Meetup's for November 2008
November bought the cold weather but a warm meetup event when Jamie Southworth joined us to open the pathway to our spirit guides, having seen Jamie before it came as no surprise she was able to tell us so many things about our lives that truly hit home.
Being in the middle of an adoption process she was able to tell us we would be expecting children in our lives when, as any who know us, it would be very obvious that that likelihood had long, normally, past us bye and we are at an age when we are looking forward to just sending cards and presents to the grandchildren.
Almost everyone in the room received some message from their guides, through Jamie, some evoking very powerful emotions in those around us, and she gave their messages to us in an entertaining and hopeful manner that gave each something to build upon.
At the witches meetup Rebecca Henkins gave a confident talk on the Druid's and how she walked that path , it was interesting to learn how the early WRCF evolved locally from it's first meeting to it's present day status. It gave a fresh insight into how the Druidic paths have widened over the brief time it has existed in the last century, the various cultural and religious differences that have emerged.
We can expect to see more of Rebecca in the new year when we are hoping she will be back to give classes on herbs starting with how to make your own incense sticks from scratch, as a master herbalist her years of knowledge make her one of the most qualified people in our neck of the woods to teach herbal law.
Our second Downtown Pagan meetup exceeded my expectations, more especially because of the bravery of our new members who came out to a freezing evening to sit and listen to my attempt to explain the history of the tarot through chattering teeth (due to the cold conditions at our outside venue). In January we are moving to a new location where we are sheltered from the cold).
Tarot seems to have struck a cord for those who attended and we will be considering expanding to teaching once a month for anyone who might wish to expand their knowledge of this spiritual tool that explores our psychology.
December will be a quieter month with Yule and Christmas for the Christian members so we shall be having a quieter time to allow everyone to be with family and friends but will be holding a open circle for regular members at a private address.
Lots of interesting and exciting things in the pipeline for 2009 when we will have many old and new speakers on a range of subjects so look forward to Yule and the New Year!
