Meetup's for the month October

Well a new year fast approaches and elections loom, not that they will have much effect for whomever gains power for us as pagan's, but it is a good time to look back and forward to see the past, both as individuals and as a people, to shape our futures in spirit and mind in order to achieve the goals of our paths journey.

fairy meet1In our first meeting of October the new 'Downtown Pagan Meetup" had a quiet but enjoyable get together, only five attended our new home at Ethos on North Orange Avenue close to the 50 but it gave us a chance to see the advantages of this welcoming vegetarian restaurant.
We even interacted with another group meeting on that Monday night for the green world cafe and talked on many subjects both pagan and general which swelled our number to eight. Next month, Wednesday November 19th, we will have a subject on the history and use of Tarot so I hope to see more faces.

Octobers North Orlando pagan meetup was a wonderful talk by Katie Madden on the Mabinogen, Katie is such a joy to listen to, the evening seemed to flow past almost as quickly as being in a fairy mound as before we knew it we were running late and people were still asking questions and wanting to hear more, without a doubt Katie will be back in the new year as she knows so much and lets others share with such ease.
Our November the 5th meetup looks to be just as memorable, we are lucky to have our friend Jamie Southworth return to give a talk on Spirit ˝guides and give readings, last time is still fresh in my mind as she hit the mark with several people so deftly that it was quite startling and emotive for all. This is one of those DO NOT MISS meetup's ;)

fairy meet 2I should say 'lastly' but how can one say something so mundane about such a wonderful meetup as the Orlando witches?
October bought us Rev. Don Sanghi, whilst a little different from some of our usual talks Don's tales of his search for his Guru taking him through India and Egypt could easily have stretched to several evenings and still have held our attention. Through this workshop I was drawn to the fact of how similar his experiences through an Eastern path shadowed my own through a very Western tradition.

The use of the inner voice, third eye exercises and particular dietary needs, whilst different in basic ways, followed ritualistic paths that had many more similarities than differences. We will certainly welcome him back for more enjoyable talks.

fairy meet 4The November the 18th meetup, brings us a new friend on the regular Tuesday night, Rebecca Henkins has been my teacher in herbs for some time and as a master herbalist and registered nurse she has blended these natural talents in her Druidic path and has consented to bring her journey to share with us, coming from England I, of course, know vaguely about Druids, I remember the lessons in school about how they lived in England long ago and how the Romans killed them all at the time of our ancestress Bodica who still lives on, as Lincoln here, on our currency.

Growing up it was a regular event to see Druids at Stonehenge every year for the Solstice but it always left me wondering how they managed to escape the Romans so I, along with you, will be able to at last find out ;)

I look forward to seeing all my old friends and many new ones in November

Love and light
