Can We Really See Fairies?
Did you ever want to see fairies? Sprites? Elves? Elementals? It won’t be easy but a little information will make seeing much more likely. Social scientists tell us our perceptions dictate what we see. We are taught to see what our relatives (community) sees and not to see whatever they do not see. It’s not a conspiracy; they are teaching us how to function in the world as they see it.
Let me illustrate: There is a famous story about the Indian shaman who first spotted
Christopher Columbus and his three ships. The boats were in plain view on the horizon but the Indians had no experience of sailing ships and therefore did not see them. The shaman however, noticed unusual patterns in the water. He searched the horizon for a long time looking for the source of the huge ripples on the beach. Eventually he saw the ships and told the others. The natives believed the shaman but it’s said that many never actually saw the boats. They couldn’t because in their minds the ships did not exist. We see what we believe and not the other way around.
This story illustrates the notion that we see reality through a rear view mirror called “our perceptions”. Our visioning organs cannot see fairies because we are looking for the familiar. We need to become like the Shaman and learn to look for patterns that can help us see beyond our limiting beliefs. We have a lot to overcome.
Fairies were written about and recognized by our ancestors. They were on good terms with the Wee Folk and had many names for them: Cousin, co-walker, good fellow, good neighbor and lots more. Folk songs and stories make up a legacy of information. Written accounts tell us how Fairies live and work with humans (or not). The Friends come in every shape and size, just like humans but unlike humans they can and do shape shift. They are famous for their pranks and mischief.
Most commentators say that meditation is the best place to actually meet and communicate with the Good Neighbors. It is possible to see them in the physical but much more difficult and more subject to human delusion because of our perception screen. In the altered state (meditation) we can tune into their frequency and with a little help from our Friends we can go into Fairyland easily and safely. But always travel with a guide who knows the territory.
Be sure to meet and greet using your best manners. The idea that humans are superior and must be obeyed is not cool in Fariyland. You are a tourist in their world. So like your mother told you if you want to be invited back you need to behave yourself and show some respect.
